Why do ute owners want ecu tuning?

All tuning for power nowadays is described in 3 stages. The majority of utes owners stop at stage 1 – approximately 60%. The next 15% of owners would stop at Stage 2. Finally, the only people who really want a lot of power out of their vehicles proceed to stage 3. We help them all.

Stage 1. This is when your ute gets a software upgrade. Realistically this is the most affordable and perhaps the most noticeable change in your ute responsiveness for the money spent. Stage 1 tune usually adds 20-25% power and diminishes the turbo lag. If you want your ute to drive even better, consider a turbo upgrade. The next often overlooked vehicle upgrade is brakes. Think about it – your ute is towing, and it now has a lot more power – it is asking to upgrade the brakes to make your driving safe.

Stage 2. Includes the software upgrade, exhaust upgrade, air supply upgrade and clutch upgrade. In addition, we would strongly advise you to get a turbo upgrade. Stage 2 tune would normally add 30 to 40% of power in comparison to a standard ute, provided your ute engine can hold all of these upgrades. After all, not all utes are equally built. As you know some brands produce very powerful utes from factory yet even they can be and should be tuned.

Stage 3 – on top of what Stage 1 and Stage 2 have, will include engine modifications like forged pistons and rods and an upgraded turbocharger. We at Brisbane Tuning & Turbo specialise in these types of projects.
